Some of the RX 470s are pretty close to the RX 480 4GB models though. Shame there are not many with the low pricing of that silver reference style Sapphire model.

Something is better than nothing. I imagine that some users will buy it and then spray it a different colour.

Retailers are price gouging on the 470 here in the US. Only one card is priced at 200. Everything else is more. No point in it. Mine as well spend another 10$ for the 480 aftermarket cards

Forgive my ignorance, but why do people care so much about back plates? Is it purely an aesthetic thing, or is it supposed to effect thermal performance in some measurable way? Or do people just not like having saggy cards?

It does seem wierd to price it so close to the 480, it basicly making not really an option over the 480

Just FYI if you order the Sapphire stock card @ £164.99 it includes a back plate. It's silver though, but it's growing on me more and more.

It's got a worse cooler than even the 480 reference. So don't expect anything less than crappy temps and noise

That's very reasonable price in UK I think, but if launched in India, they'll be priced at around 200 pounds or 16-19K INR! Already the RX 480 is priced 20,990 for the 4 GB and 22,990 for the 8 GB SKU!
