Rumour is...ATI look set to rule the roust in next gen...

Just as the title suggests.

I've been looking at some of the next gen rumours for bith the cards, visiting many sites to check out my options for my next build.

Once again: Bit-Tech have come up with a great article summing up the few rumours that abound.

In comparison to the rumoured specs of the next-generation ATI part, R520, the specs don't look all that impressive. I guess it all comes down to how efficient each of the 24 pixel pipelines are, with ATI's part rumoured to have up to 32 pixel pipelines, and clocked at up to 700MHz. Right now, It remains to be seen whether the R520 rumours are true or not - if they are, this generation could be quite a one-sided affair, with ATI set to release its own version of SLI in the next few weeks.

I'm a bit dissapointed in nvidia if this is true, as it looks like they will be outstripped by ATi on the next gen. Oh well....looks like i'll be switching to the dark side when the time comes!!

Yeah well the rumour has it that ATI's intention all along was to have the R520 be the Nvidia slayer.

Yeah you would think that Nvidia would grow some curlies and say "*$#@ you to ATI!!! I'm gonna smash the R520 into oblivion!!!" But sadly no, they haven't

Maybe their working on it...it has taked ATi a while to work on their next gen so I'm sure nvidia will hit back in good time

Hmmm...the 'sly dog' approach, I like it. Playing their cards close to their chest is the way to go imho , or at least that's what I hope they are doing.

Me too...and most likely an X2 if i can save enough. I will get whatever rox the big one at the time...I'm no fanboy so whatever's best at the time!

Im not sure if ill be aale to justify the price of a dual core for a year or more. The vapochilled diego should be able to hold me over till the time cones.

Doh! I got a GT cause I couldn't afford to spank out the extra £100 on a U. It's still the same price as it was when I bought it!
