The latest addition to the Roccat range of headsets has a much broader frequency response than we normally find on headsets. Does it produce amazing results?
Gaming headsets are generally not very good for the money. People should really stop buying this crap tech. It's far better to get a decent pair of headphones and a separate microphone if you truly need it.

While I agree with the end of your statement and would now always recommend dedicated Cans, Mic and even a DAC.. not everyone has, lets ball park a £210 budget on audio equipment. Gaming headsets have their place in the market they are reasonably priced and have I must say improved a lot over the last few years.
Sure. But pretty much all Hi-Fi Stereo headphones in the same price range as gaming headsets have a ridiculous advantage over gaming headsets in terms of audio quality. For example, if you want to spend $100 on a headset, headphones in that price range would give you a better bang for your buck. Hell, some $50 headphones like the ones from Superlux are much better than some $100-$200 gaming headsets. Not better than all of them, but better than quite a lot. And that's even without any other audio equipment.
