That is a really stupid move (should be on all platforms at launch) and a sure way to cripple the series. Not only does it annoy many gamers, but the gameplay shown at E3 clearly demonstrates that the Xbone struggles to run the game at 30fps (many times the frame rate dropped to about 10) which will give the game a bad reputation.

Tbh if they were to release forza, halo and the other timed exclusives to other platforms at the same time what would be the point of getting Xbox? Though I would love to see Forza Horizon 2 on PC :)

They have taken the microsoft dollars for short term gain which will then likely bite them when a year later PS4 & PC gamers aren't that interested in the title at full price. Square will then trot out the "sales were disspointing" (no shit sherlock) line they did for the last one and then decide on some other bizarre method of generating short term cash and we can repeat this all over again.

Why would it cripple the series for not launching on all platforms at launch? Exactly the same thing happened to the last TR game and it did fairly well.

As for annoying gamers, the majority have a gold fish mentality where they will forgive and forget anything with every new trailer which is truly infuriating, but publishers know they can get away with it and at the end of the day business doesn't cater to the minority (unless that is actually your business plan of course).

In that case, "Coming to a Steam sale near you." Like GTAV and other really long waits for a PC port, I will just wait til I can get it on sale.

This is purely a tactic to sell more Xbones.

The last Tomb Raider was excellent, a game I intend to replay once the memory has faded and I have some spare time. I'm certainly looking forward to the next instalment of TR but not enough for me to buy a Xbone.

Because as I mention in my post, the xbone clearly struggles to run the game. This was not the case with the first one.

In all likely hood, it's just going to be another crappy port with the usual hype posted around it. *yawn*

Seeing is believing, make me believe Microsoft, until then, keep your "good will" I really don't care. If it runs and plays as well or better than Tomb Raider (2013) yes, I will believe you then, only then. :)
