Review sneak peek - Phenomenal!

phenom ftw

if someone handed me 1000 quid right now, i'd get an amd, ati system ...far more stable than any core 2 duo system, or have i just been unlucky?

939 has been the best socket i've ever owned...only one problem, and that was a faulty componant...

never any serious problems, unless i try to overclock, that is a serious problem :p

my current 939 system has been the most stable yet though!

You've been unlucky, my Core2 system has been rock solid since I bought it

Yep, my two Core 2 Duo systems have been just as stable as my 939 systems. If you have a properly configured system with good quality components, then all of your systems should be equally rock-solid stable :).

There are of course exceptions. Sometimes two pieces of hardware just don't "get along."

I guess you've just been unlucky then. The only problem I've had has been a P5B Deluxe turn up its toes, which isn't an Intel related problem anyway...just the quirks of mass production tbh.

From what I've read the Phenom's run warmer (140W TDP) and slower than the 65nm Intel quad's, let alone the 45nm variety. With the isolated memory controller of the Phenom (which isn't influenced by HTT frequency); utilising the multiplier should yield the best overclocking results. As long as you can keep the heat at bay.

You going to be running testing on the processor with and without the TLB erratum BIOS-level workaround Kemp or is it a B3? Looking forward to the review with anticipation mate, as always.
