Not a good start for anyone at launch but just think about the lovely cheap abused cards that'll be going in a few months time when the currency crashes.

To me it doesn't sound too logical, since if anything, they'll be running at a stable temperature, avoiding any wear from thermal expansion and contraction.
And of course miners have the incentive to not let them thermal throttle either.
Does mining require more RAM? I heard it was sensitive to ram SPEED, but what about ram AMOUNT? Just wondering if AMD could release some lower ram models, like 4GB for the mining crowd?
This is really bad news. State the obvious I know but damn it I've been so long.
Why would they stop it, They already shift a lot of Silicone to the consoles and a lot of cards to the miners. It is good business. gives the company resources to keep developing, and ensures AMD survive.
It is harmful, trust me.
So yeah, it buggers hardware.
Yet the open air data center I work for has had Intel Xeon servers, Quadro gpus, AMD Interlagos and a rack of nvidia Fermi that are full load 24/7 since 2011-2014 and they are fine.
