Restore applications after restart?

Hello. I'm trying to find the best solution for restoring apps after a restart etc in Windows. I'd like all open apps along with any files they were using to be restored just as i left them before a reboot, after the reboot.

Can anyone recommend anything i can install that will allow this?

Cheers,
Chris.

yeah OSX Mountain Lion :) lol

Sorry /troll

I'm not sure, the best solution in my opinion is, hibernate your pc instead of shutting it down...

Yeah i know but i'm getting tired of booting up Windows each time i want to play a game. Instead i just want to make Windows better and ditch OS X as the primary OS.

I don't understand either... Why can't you use hibernate? - Like SuB says hibernating will work just fine. I just hibernated my pc and booted in to linux then rebooted back in to windows and it restored just as I left it. For rebooting in the sence you're on about you're going to have a hard time at least if you could get a list of open programs from win32 api I doubt you'll be able to re-open a program in the same state.

I didn't realise hibernate could do that :)
It still doesn't do what i want if Windows wants me to restart though, like after a software update etc

I've already seen the info in that link and was trying you guys to find the best version, but it seems like no one here uses anything like that?
I might just have to have a play with the options available.
