Do reservoirs improve cooling performance at all?

I think you won't be able to build WC without a resevoir.

Reservoirs don't make any difference to performance, technically you don't even need one but you would have a hard time filling your loop without one.

Filling your WC loop would be difficult without a reservoir, however it is possible. They also serve as a point for the air to rise to making bleeding the system easier. However they don't make any difference to performance.

cool, just though that maybe the water sitting there would cool a bit but that is kinda stupid of me i guess cos not exactly there for very long

The do not help preformance. When you first start a cold computer the longer it will take to heat the water the bigger the res.

Once the water has reached a stable temp I would go as far as say they hurt performance alitte, as any water not in the rad isn't being cooled, this goes for long tubing also. It's not much of a differeance and contant flow thru the system will mix it all up.

You can use a T-line to fill your system without a res.

For me it was easy to fill an bleed on both my PC's but I made sure to give water to pump all time to make sure no air goes to the loop.

Also I know som users have reported difficulties bleeding without reservoire.

Yea it won't make a difference to cooling, remember the pumps will be pushin this stuff around at 400-1200 lph. It moves fast!
