Hi. Big time lerker, first time posting. I'm sorry in advance if i am posting in the wrong sub-forum, i tried clicking through most of relevant subforums that could be related to a request type thread, but i couldn't find it.
Also, i realise that TTL and OC3D may not have much choice in the products they get to review.
I was looking at requesting a review into the first ROG mITX board, the z87 Maximus Impact from ASUS. The board is already quite popular on a lot of forums, and i, like many, have prepared builds to house the Mobo upon release.
With a mid-August release date, prices for pre-orders and placeholding online have been set over $300 USD, and in Australia, around $350 AUD. Considering the release of the Z87I-PRO from ASUS is at around $240 AUD, the 40% markup on the Impact is a significant price difference, seen throughout the VI series. Moreover, the VI Gene is close to 25% cheaper than the Impact.
Considering the VI Extreme review (which i thought was excellent), and the great reviews for the Z77I Ivy Board from ASUS, the Impact is somewhat of a pivotal motherboard in the Haswell releases. ITX builds are becoming more and more popular, and this MOBO, if it was priced more competitively, would smash the other ITX 1150 boards out of the water, particularly if the features and the performance of the board lives up to its marketed claims.
So yeah, I know this is a long post, particularly for my second, but yeah.
