Replacing Direct X Files

Hey guys, a few months ago I complained about my games constantly crashed and I was advised to re install all of the direct x files or "install the June 2010 DXSDK". I haven't attempted it yet but my games are still crashing and it is very irritating so I'm going to give it a go. However I have no experience in this department and so would really like some advice on how to reinstall the DX files.

Also if anyone has any other ideas that might work to stop my games crashing, by all means let me know. Thanks.

Thanks :-)

EDIT: Just downloaded it, however it is saying my version is already fully up to date and thus has done nothing. What should I try now?

Not sure, if everything is up to date then it must be something else causing your probs. Try updating you GPU driver if you haven't done that already.

Start again from scratch mate, every game comes bundled with a version of Dx because every sod uses a different version,so grabbing the latest version doe not always work(as that will only update the original MS files on your system,(not always the same as the ones the devs used to make the game)

DirectX 11 is preinstalled on Windows 7 and I am afraid it cannot be removed separately.

only installing the DXSDKjune2010 will fix any issues.

unlike the normal redistributed version of DX that comes with games (etc) the SDK forces overwriting of the dlls to their correct state

i hope this helps
