Reinstall of windows?

Hey guys,

With it being my birthday on Friday (6th) I'm buying a new PSU for my computer via aria.co.uk as it just died out of the blue a few days ago, with this problem i've decided to look into buying a new PSU, New motherboard and ram to go in a new case that i'm going to buy aswell (Zalman Z11 Plus) I'm going to swap over my CPU because its a pretty decent CPU, the only thing i've been worried about is do i have to reinstall windows if i have a new motherboard and ram or will all be fine? I'd rather not reinstall it with everything thats currently installed but I suppose it wouldn't be that much of a problem if i did reinstall it.

Hope for some help on this!

I already have a few pcs that I have changed the MB and the Ram without reinstalling windows and tested if it was slower before reinstalling windows, and it was almost the same, but in one case it was much slower (RAM you can always change without reinstalling anything). I have the impression that under windows 7 it's harder to change the motherboard without reinstalling. But I recommend you reinstalling, as a new copy of windows 90% of the time is faster than after you installed a whole lot of crap on it hahahha

i probably wouldn't bother reinstalling myself, only issue you may get is windows may think its not genuine so you may need to reactivate. I personally hate starting afresh with OS's (especially seeing as I have games with stupid stupid DRM on them which limits me to a maximum of 4 installs, not seperate installs, total installs lol) so yeah, you should be fine

I don't mind reinstalling, Thinking about it, its best if i do because i've had a different graphics card on this installation of windows so i can get rid of all of those drivers, thanks for your help, also, i've got a product key but not a disc, is there any way of getting a windows 7 disc?

Thanks for the reply, thats a very good point there, i play a lot of games and most of them have a limit, i've already installed them about 3 times, so ill think about the install or not, thanks for reminding me though mate:)

I always go with the reinstall windows when changing mobos hate driver issues. Also you should be able to dl windows and use your key. On games that have install limits there is normally a way to de-authorize it first before reinstalling it. like with crysis 2 i always forget to de auth it before reinstalling opsys and have to get EA to give me more activations lol not a major issue just takes time.

If you need the link to download windows 7 follow this link you can download the ISO for every version you just have to put in your licence key
