So, who's expecting Mr. Claus to deliver them some new kit for their folding rigs?

Got a 3930k coming here, very much looking forward to that. Might keep an eye out for a second 560Ti in the sales too. Might even try and squeeze in some -bigadv units before the change.

Anyone else?

PS. Merry Christmas (or other significant faith/non-faith based celebrations or events) everyone

Yep getting a fan controller and quiet fans for my case meaning I can fold overnight without my parents banging on the wall

Merry Christmas!

I'm down at my perants now and had a T7700 handed to me. Stuck it im my T61 laptop last night to replace the T7100 that was in there.

I have Dual IDA enabled via Throttle stop (and thanks to a hacked bios) so the T7100 was running at 2ghz and the T7700 is running at 2.6ghz.

With the cache boosted from 2mb to 4mb along with the 600mhz my PPD in the v7 beta has gone from +/- 2000 PPD to 4000 PPD.

Now thats a nice upgrade

I expected more, but not double. Very nice upgrade indeed.

After using the laptop a little bit the PPD has settled at 3.8k. so 4k is for the system doing nothing but foling.

The chip seems stable at 1.15v which is nice. Its higher than the 1.05 the T7100 was running at but its still lower than the 1.2v the VID is set at for 2.4.

All in all, very happy

I got a cold winter; my wife isn't at all upset about the computers generating heat in the house

. They heat the rooms we use most, so we don't have to run central heat, yay! (Winning.)

Ivy Bridge chips come out 7 days before my birthday, so maybe I'll get a hardware upgrade then!

My room is the hottest in the house, lol. It's excellent for the cold mornings though

I'm at my perants house at the moment. Between my PC, 2 laptops, the TV, 2 Xbox's when my brother is around (plus a second monitor), I'm having to open the french doors to the back guarden because it's getting too hot... well more stuffy rather than hot (and I like fresh air).

I think of it as an advantage. I save power using my PC at 260w for 12 hours than using my 1600w wall heater for a few hours a day in my bedroom. I have had the PC on for about 5 hours now and its 27 degrees in here :L.
