recommendation: "do NOT use 2500K overclocked 24/7!"

Hi, I´ve just seen your (overclock3d) video on Youtube "2500k @ 5GHZ Review & Benchmarks Intel Sandy Bridge 1155 P67". You say there:

"I´ve been benching my 2500K at 5 GHz stable. Did take all full load of volt. My CPU temperature didn´t exceed 72°C, But I would not... would NOT recommend this to 24/7!"

Well, that´s not so nice news for me :-( May I ask... why would you "NOT" recommend to run my CPU overclocked 24/7 ??? Any problem or risk by doing that?

PS:

1) I always thought, that overclocking won´t harm processor, if it is cooled properly...

2) I´m gonna to use Noctua NH-D14, which I think will do pretty nice job in the temperature matter...
 
i think what was meant, was dont overclock to extreme's 24/7

a moderate overclock is fine...keep an eye on temps and voltages, and dont exceed certain levels which others would be better to advise you on, since i assume you use intel

I thought he made it abundantly clear not to overclock to 5gb's 24/7

4.5gb is more than enough on 4 cores. I mean that's brilliant lol
 
I think after future bios updates it MIGHT take less volts. But really...4.5ghz rock solid? Serious? Thats friggin awesome.
 
i thought it was because no one really knows the long term effect of having a 5GHz OC 24/7

something like 4.8 or below should be fine as a lot of sandy bridge based systems are getting shipped with them
 
Well, thank you guys for a lot of responses! So, 4.5 GHz 24/7 should be ok, right? :-)

I admit, I am new for overclocking, and I am quite confused, because I´ve read at more places, that overclocking with new socket motherboards will never be the same as it used to be (maybe advantage for me, because I have no serious experience to "make my cup full" from before :-)

I saw, you´ve asked about my motherboard. I purchased "ASUS P8P67 PRO". It was recommended to me to be a proper motherboard for overclocking (or isn´t it)?

If you would just know about any hints, video or even "step by step" procedure, how to overclock 2500K on this motherboard properly from the beginning to the "very end" successful, I would be grateful for it!
