Since the mainstreaming of flash memory thumbdrives and portable 2.5" HDD, DVD±RW discs have been sitting on my shelf, but I still do burn the occasional CD-R. I can honestly say I have never seen a Blu-Ray box in any home I've ever been in, nor have I ever seen a BD disc in person any where. I can't see myself putting anything that needed the space on BD, that I would just put on a portable HDD.
Now my ODD is pretty much the noisiest device when in operation. Recommend me a quieter DVD combo drive please.
I did do a search for "DVD drive", but the latest 'what to buy' thread date back to FEB2008, but still recommend me a new one even if the DVD drive development may have gotten somewhat stagnant.
