Reaper 1066

Hi all,

I have 4 * 2gb sticks of OCZ Reaper 1066 DDR2 (with the heat pipes, can't remember if they are Reaper or Reaper X) ram running on a Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 Mobo with a Q9450 Cpu

The front bus and cpu run @ 1333mhz but the ram is running @ 1066 with timings 15-5-5-5 - standard voltage.

I am big time water cooling my mobo and cpu so heat shouldn't be a problem there but of course the ram is a different matter.

Has anyone overclocked these ram sticks and if so how high will they go and at what timings and voltage.

I know that they won't run 1-1 with my Cpu but anywhere closer and staying stable would be great.

All help much appreciated.

Thanks.

If they have the copper heatpipes and not the big silver fins they are reapers; not as good as reaper x but still decent.

As to how far they will OC, you will have to play around and see! I can't imagine you getting more than ~100mhz more out of them for 24/7 stable...

You are confused with the speeds of memory and the FSB. If you want to know the actual speeds, you have to divide the FSB by four, and the memory by two. You'll find that the memory is running quite a lot faster than the FSB ATM. Otherwise, we would need memory that is running nearly twice as fast as the stuff out on the market!

So what is the actual base mhz of a X48 board, the fsb + cpu is running at 1333 the ram is at 1066, I'm used to an AMD board so much easier with its 200mhz base (but slower much much slower)

If the fsb has a 4 multiplier then the base is 333mhz if the ram has a 2 multiplier then the base is 533mhz ??? Confusion or is this then to do with the ratio as well and which is the base mhz 333 or 533 ??
