Yep, that`s what happened. Dood who speaks linux had a usb pen thingy ala boot.

Can`t say I was fully aware what was on the usb, but he said it was 50m and fully operational or something.
 
Damn Small Linux (DSL) is under 50MB but I would be careful of usb pen drives booting off of them is dodgy. I think a live cd would be much more reliable. Knoppix would be my recommendation given its maturity and extensive collection of software. Hope I am not preaching to the choir.
