Random freezing

Hi guys,

not sure if this is the right place to post this.
A random pc freeze has been happening over the past week or so.
First the lights on keyboard and mouse turn completely off and then rig grinds to a halt. The only choice i have is to hit the reset button.

I did do a few windows update over the course of the week so my guess it may be that but i'm unsure so that's why i'm hoping someone can give me some guidance.

Thanks :)

Sounds more like a hardware problem to me, run OCCT power supply test.
Is there any pattern?
You could try downloading Ubuntu live disk, and use it for a while to rule out software problem, it does not install, just plug n lay and leaves no mess.

I've removed them, will see how it goes over the next few days.

How long do i do the psu test? i hope my psu survives

The psu test just stresses the CPU and GPU.
From OCCT:
"This test is designed with one thing in mind : trying to get the most out of your Power Supply. And for that, a combination of a GPU:3D on the GPU and Linpack on the CPU is the best."

OCCT have not stated any recommended lengths of time this test should be run but i would still follow the usual test of a minimum of 8 hours. If you wish to go more or less than do so if you feel uneasy about letting it run for too long. Another way of thinking about it is a benchmark load on the CPU and GPU but for a different outputting result of data if that helps you become less uneasy(that is if you are worried in the first place).
