Rampage 3 Formula VS Sabertooth

Hey guys,

Most of you guys are probably in the UK, so this might be a difficult one to answer, but here goes:

I'm stuck between deciding which one of the above boards I should go for, I can get these boards for roughly the same price, the R3F being a little more expensive. The reason I'm stuck now is that I would have taken the Sabertooth, but stock seems to be very limited in ZA for the Sabertooth and I'll have to wait for the next shipment if I choose it, the R3F is available, but due to it not being released in the EU/UK, it seems a little difficult to get a proper review.

I have a pair of EVGA 460 SC EE's that I will be running on the board and it seems a better idea to get the R3F and then use slots 1+3, in stead of using slots 1+2 on the Sabertooth.

I have considered the R3E, but the pricetag is rediculous and I will not be using the full functionality, so I'll pass on it.

Edit:

I believe my topic description and post to be quite informative and self explanitory, but for those who still don't get what I'm on about:

Does anybody know how these boards stack up against each other or can anyone give a recommendation for my current situation?

As Tom said to someone else today, you need to make the question you are asking clear. All you've done is tell us what you're doing

ZA asin South Africa? If it is, the next shipment arrives on 24th I believe. I'd personnaly wait for the sabertooth since I like it more. The sabertooth doesnt have the best spacing for gcards though but the R3F's third slot is probably a 8x lane. It doesn make that big of a differance though, if you rly like the R3F get it.

And what colour scheme are you looking at?

Yep, South Africa

I like the look of the Sabertooth, but I'm not going for a specific colour scheme. Was thinking of getting a CM Storm Scout as I move my PC around very often. My HAF 932 I sold as it was just way too big to carry around the whole time.

I'm not sure about the 3rd slot only being 8x, but can't really find solid info on that. I will be doing some OC on the rig for bench scores, but I'd probably be running most of the kit stock for 24/7 usage.

If there was stock in the country I probably wouldn't be asking any questions, but as fate has it, I've been stuck without a PC at home for 3 weeks now and my hands are starting to itch. Then again, RAM is also running short so I have to try and find what I want or wait another 2 weeks :/

That's probably the worst part about pc gaming/ enthusiasm, the waiting, so long

if u have money go for RE3 if your budget is thigh go for Sabertooth - I had the second one - it is a cracking board mate

Cool, Im also from South Africa, first of do some research on the boards and see which one Overclocks beter and ya pros and cons. Well if its not according to colour scheme we'll scratch that. I myself have previously done research on lga 1366 mobos but I changed my mind after reading about Ivy bridge, which is still far away, anyways and I liked the sabertooth out of reviews, especially toms review. It also looked differant which is also cool

So basicly if you can wait a while or go do research and see which one you like the most, you will have a new mobo in your hands now or later

(I hope this made sence :/)

Yeah thanks man it made sense. I found a long review on the R3F, seems slots 1+3 are 16x, so it would be a better bet, going gwith the R3F
