im looking at getting some overclockable DDR (2x1gb sticks).

whats concidered to be the best?

I want to hit 270fsb+. I know pc4000 g.skill gets rated but its only ment to reach 250fsb. I know corsair XMS4400 Pro is ment to be good for 275fsb but its like £230+. I really need to stay below £200 if i can.

What can you recomend???

If you can't afford overclockers' memory, the other option is to lower the memory frequency in the BIOS - for example, to 333MHz or 266MHz - which gives you a bit more overclocking headroom. For example, if you have PC3500 memory (maximum speed 433MHz) then you could only overclock a 200MHz FSB or HTT CPU to 216MHz while still keeping the FSB and memory in sync. However, by setting the memory divider to 3:2 instead of 1:1, the memory would be forced to run at 266MHz (effective) at the default FSB speed of 200MHz. This would allow you to overclock the FSB to 325MHz before the maximum memory speed of 433MHz was reached.

CustomPC issue 030/March 2006

It mean's you still can go for PC4000 GSkill.

Cheers ;)

Hmm, mushkin redline 2gb would be the best, but thats £250+.

Gskill 2Gb HZ PC4000 or OCZ 2GB Gold PC4000 would probably get you there, my VX4000 went to 280.
