My apps (just the browsers really, but also EA Origin client (for Crysis
) and all the motherboard utilities, and all other hardware drivers/utilities, plus Windows, and a couple restore points, take up
19.7GB on my SSD. Then Crysis is like 11GB.
Best ways to free up space:
- Delete hiberfil.sys
- Shrink your page file (mine is 500MB with 8GB RAM), its default is like 8GB
Definitely SSD> RAM though, the difference in responsiveness is very noticeable.
On the same hardware, I've installed Windows on the HDD and SSD individually (as I ordered SSD later), and I can say hand on heart the SSD is definitely worth the money.
You want at least 60GB+ though, some SSDs will slow up as they fill up.
EDIT: Its 16.2GB used up by Windows + Program Files now, deleted shadow file copies and removed Service Pack Backup files.
