RAM-Neck Between RAM & Overclocked CPU

Hi,

Will there be a "RAM-Neck" flow impedance if DDR2 SDRAM is used with a Q9550 (2.83GHz) CPU overclocked to 4GHz?

CPU: Core2Quad Q9550 (overclocked to 4GHz)

Ram: Corsair - TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) PC2-6400 DDRII-SDRAM

or, will it all run smoothly ?

Thx for advice.

Answer to the ram question. I've got a x9650, 9450, 6600, 6700, 6400 running on ddr2. 2 or 3 hit 4ghz+. Both cheap and expense, with high and low ratings - nothing from either is effecting the other.

Now, if u welded ddr or edo memory onto the mobo, then we'd need a serious chat.

I was thinking more along the lines of him "Rammin em down his neck in the Rovers Return"

Still, its a light hearted variance on t'other word "bxxxxxneck"

Merry Xmas To All

I think the polite answer is it wont cause you any massive issues dude, but obviously if you had DDR3 then the extra bandwidth will always help speed up your system.

Its deffo not going to cause your PC any major M25 style traffic jams though.

Welcome to the forums btw, dwai Rasta hes like that all the time, we are all hoping he finds some Christmas chear.
