RAID Options

I have 2x2tb WD blacks, my uncle just gave me 2 more as he upgraded his system. I do not need anymore than 4tb of storage space, currently only get above 3tb when recording, what setup should I put them in, I don't really want to have to buy a RAID controller if possible and my mobo is an Asus P8Z68-DELUXE. I backup all my important stuff regularly, so i guess what i am really asking is RAID 10 a good idea on that board? Means it kind of covers me if i forget to back up but I get some performance boost too

i would have to run them through the sataII ports on my mobo, will that make any difference?

if the disks are not going to be used for the OS, but for huge storage drive, then windiows can use a software raid option.

goto disk management and create a spanned drive (over many disks), use the short-stroked option for extra speed

I'd use the Intel hardware to raid it myself.
