Raid 0 array / HD boot issues

Hi Guys,

Been a while since I have been on the Forum after moving house, new job etc but thought I would come on to pick your brains :)

I have a new FM2 HTPC setup.
Running a raid0 array with 2 Samsung spinpoint 1tb drives.

Had issues with a Gigabyte board intermittently not spinning up the drives on post and therefore failing to boot from the raid array.

RMA'd the board and Ebuyer confirmed it was faulty.

I replaced the board with an ASUS board, as I was not confident it was a raid controller failure having never seen one before.

The Asus board worked fine at first, however it again begun to intermittently not recognise the raid array.

I figured it was perhaps a faulty / pinched sata or power cable as my cable management is quite tight.

Replaced the Power cable and sata cables, but the issue still occurs intermittently. Also switched sata ports on motherboard.

It is intermittent and does not spin up / recognise either one or both of the drives.

What are your opinions? Faulty or incompatible raid controller again?
Faulty drives?

Tried different Modular outputs on the Corsair PSU, could the PSU be at fault?

As it is a raid 0 array and an intermittent fault I am not sure how useful HD diagnostic tools will be? Any input would be appreciated.

Have you got the raid driver installed during the OS installation done correctly and all the raid stuff actually IN the os done too?

You dont have a dedicated raid controller btw its all done in the chipset.

Yeah, It's at post though that the issue occurs, rather than OS boot.

It just fails to recognise either one, or both of the discs and therefore the raid array so can't be driver related?
