R7 bios wierd

So i was looking at my bios as I am considering updating it so I can unlock the voltage to do a proper overclock with afterburner.

Using GPUz I went to submit the bios to techpowerup and in the duplicate check it came up as R9 370 https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/173900/173900.

I decide to see what I could get in terms of oc prior to any potential bios changes and found the results rather odd using Unigine valley.
I ran OC bench then ran again at stock

@OC core 1150 mem 1500
FPS:28.4
Score:1187
Min FPS:14.6
Max FPS:53.7
Temps 54

@ stock core 1050 mem 1400
FPS:27.5
Score:1151
Min FPS:15.2
Max FPS:51.7
Temps 63
So with a marginal 2 frame gain my OC is 9c cooler and I have no idea why.

Not going to lie, that is a very strange result..

Almost as funky as the latest Crimson Drivers bricking my stepdads HD6790, way to go AMD!

just ran both again only this time both stock is 64 oc is 63 with an additional 1fps perhaps i need to get a different bench tool.
Still I would like to be able to take this further im confident it can be pushed more if I get the voltage unlocked

Voltage should already be unlocked through AB? Pretty sure it was with my 390x, was a long time ago but I did overclock it to 1200 core(1180 stable iirc) and pretty sure no R9 series will do that without voltage increases:p

nope its locked for me can move the other sliders but not the core voltage one

Just checked in afterburner to make sure I had unlocked voltage control it has a tick next to it indicating it is indeed unlocked and as standard MSI not sure what reference and extended msi do maybe I am missing something
