quick Q on closed loops 3 pin to 4 pin header

I'm thinking of buying a corsiar h60I, iv notice it comes with 3 pin power connection to plug up to the motherboard, my motherboard only has 2x4 pin one for the cpu and the other is a system fan.
Where should I connect the cooler to?..the fans I was just gonna hook upto molex and have them 100% speed.

I don't know for sure, but I'd assume the 3 pin is for rpm monitoring of the pump. I'd be willing to bet you can use the corsair link software to also see this, but you would lose the ability for the BIOS to power the PC off automatically in the event the pump died.

This is all just my guess though.

3 pin fans can attach to 4pin fan headers, the 4th pin is just to one side of the normal plug so it will only let you plug it in to the right section of the header.

On a side note, the h60 isnt that great of a cooler, you can get better results from an artic cooling i30 or a30 (i is intel version a is amd version) for alot cheaper as it performs only 1-2c worse than a h80 on medium fan preset, and its around half the cost of the h60 at £30 vs £50-60

I read the question as he had both of his headers used. My bad. Is there an H60i? I thought only the i variants came in the 80 and 100 models. Maybe the OP meant H80i?

If your limited on space and not overclocking then the h60 seems like a reasonable option despite the price, but if the case has a 120mm fan on the back then the i30/a30 will fit fine as the cooler is 165mm tall.

What cpu/case are you using btw?

I'm using a silverstone sugo sgo3 with a i5 3450, was gonna hook the cooler to one of the front intakes, Iv measured and it will fit with very slight modding to the case

VERY limited in that case.. the h60 will fit the bill fine as you said if you just need a few cuts to fit it.
