Quick install question

So quick question. I'm building my first PC and have quick question regarding GPU installation. Have everything except for the GPU which will be an EVGA 1080 FTW2. Also have the Corsair RM750x. I'm also using the custom cable set from Corsair and was wondering do I need 2 separate 8 pin PCIe cables or the one that's single 8 pin on the PSU side and dual 8 pin on the other end? Thanks for any help you can give.

You can use "daisy chain" (dual 8 on the one side) with no problems. If your card works then leave it. Sometimes cards don't like daisy chain cables so you need to run two single cables.

Ah ok thanks. This was supposed to be in the graphics card section guess I clicked on the wrong section, sorry.

It would be much better to use 2 seperate 8PIN cables to go to the GPU, if you were to use a cable of which has an 8pin and has another 8pin coming off of it, it generally isn't the best thing to do as it would only have a single cables' worth of power, if that makes sense and if that was even what you were asking.

EDIT: While I was making the post, Avet beat me to it :D

Yep that's what I was thinking but just needed to be sure. Thank y'all both for the reply.

I use the daisy chain cables from my Corsair 1KW PSU with a custom cable kit from Corsair and have been using them since I got the PSU some time in the first half of last year.

I have had no issues with power to the 2 GTX980Ti's, in using the cables rather than running 4x 8 pin cables.

As said some cards don't like the daisy chain cables but if your card works with them, then you might as well only run 1 cable instead of 2.
