Quick Haswell-Devil's Canyon question.

I currently have an intel i3-4130 on an MSI z87 g43 motherboard, and am looking to upgrade to a 4690k. Do I need to get a Bios update for the mb or will it be ready to go, or should I go with the 4670k? I've been a bit out of touch with tech and want to upgrade and clean my pc and have forgotten what I can and can't do with this. (Emphasis on the 'clean' part)

Go the MSI website and see if there is any BIOS updates for your board you need. link to the download page.
As for upgrading, personally I would sell the i3 and board and jump to skylake. But if that's to much work then in your case i'd get a 4790k. Mine as well get the best one you can for your board. Can always sell the i3 or use it somewhere else.

Thanks for the replies, however I do mean the i5-4690k, nothing else. I have a Haswell cpu and motherboard, but am wondering if I need to do anything with my motherboard to upgrade to Haswell Refresh-'Devil's Canyon' CPU, as they are the same socket but different in their own ways. It says on the website http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z87-G43.html#support-cpu that it is, but I have heard back when they were released that a Bios update of some sort was needed. Although, I guess they need one don't seeing as the motherboards website says that they are compatible.

You just need the latest BIOS before installing the new chip. Otherwise the BIOS won't recognize the cpu and won't boot.
