Qualcomm's working on GPU drivers and optimisations tools for Android

Super excited for this. This helps the entire Android ecosystem. I'm sure outside of gaming they can apply some techniques to other apps that are less intensive and maybe improve battery life by leveraging the driver.

That'll probably take longer as they seem focused on gaming but still exciting nonetheless. Biggest Android problem is fragmentation and by having more of the companies work together it only improves that problem.

edit: just came to the realization that if they can expand this to tablets that would be an insane game changer. Generally speaking Android tablets are cheap. But if they can get software optimization for it? It could greatly improve a much needed part of the market/Android ecosystem. It's been neglected for quite some time.

Trust me, this is gonna be amazeballs. Yeah im so excited im using childish stupid words to describe how good this is going to be!

Current device (NDA) with 120hz 4k screen, and now they are developing this.. literally the best phone I have ever tested so far! Qualcomm is going to be able to expand this into so many devices over time as they further improve their chipset.

Heat will be an issue if anything. 5G testing at the moment and the devices are spicy! Throw in some raw gpu power and it could be a little concern. Then again, qualcomm do nearly everything right so far.

Well it has potential to use the GPU more efficiently so it could avoid getting hot and still provide the same or better performance at the same power draw. Though yes I could see it getting to be a problem for max usage with 5g running
