Whoa, sad news. That's going to leave a LOT of people out of work right at the start of 09

Guess that also means an end to their Aeneon performance brand too. Shame as they had some nice low-voltage kits.

Indeed, a heavy blow to the industry. It will make life miserable for a lot of people... I never understood why they dropped the brand name "Infineon" and went with "Qimonda"... Infineon sounded much better and was an already established name on the market. I think this was one of the things that contributed to their demise.

Who's left? Samsung, Hynix, Elpida... or should I say, who's next?! Just another bad day on Earth.

that's pretty sad, i also saw other news, the economic crysis finaly came to the tecnology area, that was one of the less affected in the start yesterday also i saw at the news, that more 70.000 people are out of jobs and that was only one day of demissions around the globe...

I saw the news about 70,000 job losses too. This will be a huge blow to many graphics card manufacturers as they use Qimonda memory chips.
