Yes, Tekheads did have some but for £60 more. Even these at £230 delivered are about £50 over the original 'target' price. One more for the rule of 'supply and demand'.

Well I was on another forum, and apparently its not overly great, its good, but not as good as we are hoping for, anyone else heard this, and is anyone else considering not getting one in favour of something else? If another beast of a gaming CPU is more powerful than this, and costs less than £230, I will be pretty tempted...

Surely they cant charge your card until they have dispatched it? thats the law anyways

Well they did, even before the first batch were MENT to be in stock, on the upside it means I avoided the price rise (£220 to about £235) but then that counts for jack seeing as they never gave me one...

The Q9450 I got last week is bedding in fine. At stock on air in runs at 23c (sys at 29c) I'm using it for multimedia and have a use for a quad + 6mb x2 cache. SSE4 is a bonus for the future. After my 2500 Barton, I'm actually not in a rush to push it.

I was just about prepared to pay the £50 premium over it's 'true' price, but it's not an overclocking beast with 8x multi lock.

Another 155 are due in tomorrow but if you want one it's best to phone to see how many are backordered.

As for overclocking, just because its a x8 multiplyer my Maximus Formula should be ok, I hear they can hit FSB 400 easy enough, that will give a decent overclock without too much sweating.

Was just having a little look on AdvanceTech and have seen they have the Q9450 listed. Doesn't say out of stock or anything and lets you get to the purchase screen. Haven't tried to go further so don't know if they will let ya buy them.

Advancetec will let you buy something wether it be in stock or not.

They prolly wouldnt even tell you if it was in stock or not after you ordered aswell.
