Hey, I was looking and wanting the Q9300 over the Q6600 because of the 2MB larger Cache, the FSB is 1333 vs 1066, but most of all the 45nm.
I wanted to overclock it to 3.4, don't need to go higher, but will it run cooler than Q6600 at 3.3? I know it has a smaller die, but the FSB is much higher. A lot of people say the multiplier is locked, and say it's a bad overclocker cause you need much higher volts than the Q6600 to achieve the same overclock, making it run hotter. Not too sure on this.
From all of this, I'm thinking I'll have to get an E8400, and just clocking it high up, around 4.0 or so, and wait a year for a the Nethalem Quad Cores and i7 Motherboards to reach what a Q6600 and a 750i FTW is worth now. I think I'll probably just do that. But I'd like a quad.
Thanks! :worship:
