Pskyo headset with immediate release!

I seen these somewhere before, they do look a bit plastic LIKE, but I guess the sound is amazing. With games I play it's no surround for me :D, I can tell where someone is anyway just by the surface they walk on.

they are the muts dooo daaa's! no jokes i WILL be gettign a set have been watching these progress! and sharkoon are not a scratch on these ..... these dont use eome pants usb driven sound card etc. but sharkoon are good but these are amazing!

The USB on the Sharkoons provides mic functionality should you choose to use the Dolby Digital decoder for an Optical input, the only speakers the USB provides sound to at that point are the 2 designated VOIP speakers (left + right), at that point all 5.1 sound is delivered via the optical cable from my computer's sound card. You don't lose any channels in doing so as the VOIP speakers are additional to the surround speakers and smaller in size/quality so as not to impede on overall surround sound quality.

As a matter of fact you can also use the headset with 4x3.5mm jacks (Analogue 5.1 + Mic) without the decoder box so saying the whole thing is driven by a 'pants usb sound card etc' shows a blatant misunderstanding of the device.

So what advantages do these actually offer?

sorry i didnt type as if the sharkoon had usb driven. i know it has a little box etc. i was just generalising to most 'gaming' headsets being usb.

as for the advantages just google them. real 5.1 and a proper 'airy' sound like a cinema. i found the sharkooons and the medusa 5.1's to feel verry enclosed

The Sharkoons also have the full speaker layout for True 5.1- the sound field is incredibly accurate for a cup-based speaker system, it's the reason I bought them; they're in completely different league to the Medusas and especially the Razers which use a form of speaker virtualisation to generate the field.

The width of the sound field can also vary depending on the output of your sound card, I receive a much wider and more accurate sound field when connected to my X-Fi than when I use the onboard sound and this can be tweaked the personal preference through the software. I'd be interested if the speakers were of a higher quality technically speaking than the Sharkoons but I doubt the bass will carry the same punch due to the more open design.

If I remember right these are the ones that provide the bass vibration through a series of smaller sub speakers in the actual headphone bridge, correct?
