Stanford University's Folding@home distributed computing project has seen its capacity double in the last month to 700 T Flops thanks largely to the PlayStation 3 according to Sony.

The 250,000 folding PS3's now account for 400 T Flops of capacity in the effort to model and understand how proteins "fold" in the quest to solve the mysteries of such diseases as Alzheimers and BSE.

and thanks to sony, we're now using nearly twice as much energy!

Well if governments got off they're lazy asses and built things like the 7 barrage then we wouldn't have too worry.

would be good if they could get 360s to do this also

What`s the hold up ?

7 barrage - atempt to control the tide levels of the river 7.

Jobs/money for the boys + makes the waterline cover the sludged banks around the "executive appartment" pigeon holes they built around the bay = more handouts for chums.

... oh and to preserve wildlife lol

ooo, sounds interesting. Not sure how we wouldnt have to worry about wasting enerdy if it was finished.

Thing is, rich people and developers needed it to be built real-fast or the window views of their appartment pigeon holes would look ghastly.

Tag on the conservationist label, shuffle some money about, and an afternoons work and it was done.
