I thought they were priced below component costs - only if u wanted to buy the components as a smaller company or individual and not necessarily on the grand scale or whatever agreements the console manufs would no doubt get.

Arguements sake, u go out and buy 100 x E6300, trade for ~£70.. Sony walk into the room and get a 10,000 x E6300 for ~£50 plus some fringe related benefits. (not like Sony are gonna buy them, but as a crude example)

hmm interesting.

Not to point out too many flaws in that study and resulting table, but I seriously don`t think the prices they pay for the harddrives (depicted) is anywhere near correct.
