Do you plan on overclocking? I'd go with a better cooler, NH-D14 or Thermalright Silver Arrow as long as they will fit in your case. Do you have room in your budget for an SSD? What hard drive will you be using if not?

Everything else looks good.

Oh yes, must have forgotten to copy and paste :L

WD Caviar Blue WD800AAJB 80GB Hard Drive IDE 7200rpm 8MB Cache - OEM £74.99

Nothing fancy really, I have got a 1tb external hardrive which I'll be using to store the majoirty of my music, videos, games ect..

Didn't think that SSDs were worth the ££ yet? Insted of buying WD Caviar get a 65gb SSD for boot?

If you go for a mechanical hard drive go SATA not IDE. Personally, I'd get the largest SSD you can afford and use that as your boot drive. Try to stretch as far as you can though. 65GB will be enough initially, but you will wish later you opted for more. I have an 80GB SSD as boot and it's not enough. I want more and more programs on it.

I would get another case (corsair 500r maybe) and a dark rock advanced atleast

get one of the EVGA HD gtx 570s and spend the £30 on a SSD for £110 you can get a 128gb SSD

Ebuyer has SSD 60GB OCZ for £60 or a better Kingston SSD 64GB at £70 or a Seagate 7200rpm 250GB for £70. I did a search about 1-2 weeks ago upon reading about the high prices for storage and found some shops still had some in clearance very cheap but none today, maby summin on ebay etc if you look. I think invest extra monety on a top spec motherboard, ROG maby. I got my ROG 1156 for £180 (maby 18months ago)

Brilliant, thanks for the advice guys. This is what I'm thinking of..

CRUCIAL RealSSD C300 Solid State Disk (SSD) - 2.5" - SATA-600 - 128 GB £ 144.99

Not sure wether to get a cheaper, basic budget case to save abit of money. I have two spare 120mm stealth fans to add.

The NXZT has plently of fans to keep the temps down - I won't be overclocking anytime soon so I'll buy watercooling at a later stage?

Haven't researched ROG motherboards, but £180 seems alittle overkill?

With a high-end motherboard you can balance the price with the CPU because it'll play all CPU's with great overclocks, allowing you to get a cheaper CPU and get a brilliant overclock for so in theory it's as good and better than a better CPU on a cheaper motherboard, because the motherboard overclocking does more than the CPU. The motherboard is the most important piece in your rig and the better it is the more you do with the rest, more upgrades, better overclocks and it'll properly support the best CPU's capability for when you can afford it

I would be more tempted to go to for corsair vengence ram or mushkin with 1600mhz its only an extra 85p for mushkin blackline from aria

Thank you for all your help guys, pc arrived today

However, all was not dandy.. I noticed on the veins, grill on the front of the gtx 570 that there is a slight nic in the fine metal and it seems to be bent up slightly.. I thought this was odd but continued to do a pre-build test..

Everything seems to work, but when I short the Pwr Switch (pre test, motherboard not in case to use button) the fans on the graphics card start up and start to make an awful buzzing, catching noise..

I started the system a few time to make sure its not me being silly and it continued to do so. I took the front grill off and manually spinned the fans. The first and third fan or fine but the second middle fan is catching on part of the what seems to be a radiator.

My question is, obviously this isn't normal - has any had this happen to them? I shall be ringing Ebuyer up straight away tomorrow to get an explantion why this has happened and when will I get my replacement..

For a first time build - not really want I wanted to happen.
