My bits are starting to arrive..... the build will feature

CPU - Core i7 4790k
RAM - Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB 1866Mhz (red)
MOBO - Gene VII
COOLER - H105
CASE - Fractal Node 804
SSD - Crucial MX100 512gb
HDD - x2 750 GB WD
PSU - Enermax MODU 82+ 625W
CABLES - Pexon PCs (will be arriving later)
GPU - Palit Super Jetstream 980GTX

I am hoping to get the build done over the weekend. Please check back here for pics....

For those of you wondering where I got the project name. Well, my mancave is also my dog's cave. PC on the floor equals dust nightmare..... I will be moving the build 'Up' onto my desk (hence the Node 804).

I know what that's like mate. Got the dog sleeping directly next to my desk, and the dust is everywhere, got doghair stuck in my gpu waterblock with dustfiltered intakes, so for the most part I just ignore it . Look forward seeing your build mate. Hardware looks nice.

Any thoughts on blending the black/white theme of the case with a pure red/black mobo and GFX card? The slot filling plates are white, as are the fans. Should I have gone for white RAM? I have red coming tomorrow..... or.... can I get hold of black slot filling plates that will fit the Node 804?

What d'ya reckon all?

I'd say be careful with red, don't overdo it. Let the black/white dominate and use the red just as accents.

Pexon PC cables are on the way to me.... my 980 GTX was RMA'd (hence it being absent in this pic.

The rear of the case. This illustrates one of the main reason why I went for this case.... it keeps the crap out of site and has great storage options.

OK after a good talking to from JR I decided to grab some shots of the rig complete with the Pexon PC cables fitted.... I hope you like the shots. James has done a great job with the cables (JR.... admit that you said the 24 pin is something you're lusting over....).

Anyway here goes:





The top fan in the last shot is the one I am working to RMA with Gray_beard... will make sure the fan's orientation matches the one below once it has been reinstalled. Just need my GTX 980 back in the mix and all should be well.....
