even though i will likely never buy one, i really do hope it delivers what it says it will (even if its crazy priced like £1000) either it will kill off a large portion of pc gaming or push development really far, i recon scorpio will be a re-badged msi trident, which wouldnt be the worst thing ever.

Console gaming will never push the development in pc gaming, simply because there are no 'console gaming parts'. Consoles use pc parts, so consoles will never outperform pc's.

No. Everything about this post is no.
Consoles do push game development. As an industry. not just pc gaming. Sure they don't push graphic fidelity, but they push innovation. For example take the Witcher 3. A game so infamous for it's amazingness, for it's countless praise, for it's countless awards, simply would not have been possible without consoles. This game was definitely innovative.

Lastly, they don't use PC parts. They use custom designs based off architectures that just so happen to be used in PCs. No CPU runs with GDDR5 memory afterall.

My thoughts as well. It doesn't have to be a "true" console. Then again, if this happens, it's more a PC than a console...
