Thought I'd show a few pics of my new system as I build it up. I need it to be together as soon as possible to get a lot of 3D rendering and other CAD on the go :)

Here's the spec of my new system :D

System:

Intel Conroe E6600

Asus P5B wi-fi Deluxe

Patriot DDR2 2 x 1024MB

nVidia 7900GTX

WD 150GB 16MB Raptor

Lacie External Drive

NesTeq ASM 620W

Lian-Li PC-7B SE PLus

Water Cooling:

AquaXtreme MP-05 Ltd. Edition

Thermochil PA160 with Shroud

Aqua Computer AquaBay in Black

DD Black Derlin Fillport

AquaXtreme 50-Z Pump

Hopefully, this will prove to be a reliable system 8)

Here's a pic...

Here's a shot of the PA160 fitted with foam absorption on the top and bottom. Still need to fit a fan out of my collection, but can't decide which! I'll probably go with my UV Thermaltake Thunderblades :B

Looking good so far stocky mate - real interested to see how it all finishes up.

For me your best success so far was the V2000 - lets see if this surpasses that one :)

Mav

Ah, don't remind me that I sold it! :(

The V2000 was a really nice case, I'm a big fan of the Lian-Li cases - closely followed by CoolerMaster. The only thing with the V2000 was the size, she was a very big case to heft around the place. Especially being at uni, and doing all the moving about I do

This one should be just right though, nothing too crazy, yet...

I hope to keep adding things when I get time, but for now it's about getting it done so I can do my work :)

Should be a very nice rig when you're done mate. Is there a water block for the chipset and voltage regulators for this board? I've got a fan on mine at the moment as it runs so hot.

I was supplied with a axial fan in the box, but haven't got around to figuring out where it goes! 8)

Do you think it would be beneficial to remove the copper sinks/ heat-pipe and replace it with a waterblock?

Deffo fit the fan supplied, also rip the cover off the northbridge to allow it to breath - I dont think ther eis much mileage in watercooling that too, Kenny has read more about it and I could be wrong.

Mav

Where the fins of the heatpipe sit is the hot end that is where it disapates the heat from, it isn't designed to cool in anyway the only part that cools is the other end, you will see if you remove the heatpipe that it only has a rubber type pad underneath the fins this does not conduct the heat....

Just to make the heatpipe cooler even more pointless...the "heatpipe" is just a hollow copper pipe..the thermal conduction is...limited.... Seeing as 2/3 of the VRMs are not sinked, when/if I ever get my new board I might get cocky and try not cooling those VRMs at all.

About Mavs post... watercooling the NB can help add 20 or so to the FSB ceiling. I dont think the P5B really needs it :)

Look forward to the finished pics Stocky. Can you let me know what the NesTeq PSU is like, how loud it is, does it stay at 0dba etc as I'm thinking about getting one for my server.

Nick.

Nick.

It's a beauty of a supply. It runs with the 120mm fan stationary under normal use. When I'm putting the system under load the PSU will heat up so the fan comes on, then goes off when its cooled it down. You have control on the back though, so you can just run the fan slowly all the time. :)

Phil should stock these ;)

I'm going to have to investigate how to do this. Where does the fan actually go? Also, how is the cover attached?

Here are some more pics of what I've done today :)

Looking good Stocky. Do you still have your dba meter, how loud is it roughly when the fan is operating? Have you decided on a fan for the rad yet?

I may well run with the standard Lian-Li fans for now, unless I get the chance to setup the M-Cubed to control some beasties like the Thunderblades :D

I do have the dB meter - I'm hoping to get some time to test some more fans and that. I've just been so busy recently :(

Just found out that the AquaTube runs with 1/8" fittings, how annoying is that :(

Surely it'd make more sense to go with 1/4", as it becomes more universal. Anyway, off to town to get a tap that fits and some 1/4" blockers. Why's it always hurdle after hurdle when you're busy! 8)

Any updated pics of this Stocky?

Yes! I'll get some pics up some time soon - Just moved back to uni, and I'm a bit bogged down at the mo. However, I'm happy to say the system is mainly up and running. Although I haven't even had the chance to clock it... yet! 8)

I'll update soon, really bogged down with work at the moment - but will get some pics up and some settings soon! :)
