Hi everyone this is my project and my first ever build but its still a work in progress. The main uses are internet, Playing some games (when the graphics card wants too!:p) and watching films. The spec is:

Case: Antec 300

Mobo: Gigabyte ga-73vm-s2

CPU: Intel celeron E1200 dual core overclocked to 2.72GHz

Cooler: standard intel cooler

HDD: Wester digital 120gb ide drive (saving up for spinpoint f1 1TB)

RAM: 1gb corsair xms 5-5-5-15 timings

PSU: Arctic power 600w

Future plans are:

1TB samsung f1 hard drive

Asus p5q pro mobo

Intel q9550 quad core running at 3.60GHz or round about

Full custom water cooling

ATI Radeon hd4850 graphics

19" zalmann monitor

Thermaltake toughpower 750w modular

Its running a Intel stock cooler at the mo, this is the highest the chip can go on this motherboard because anything else it jus goes into safe mode and wont have it.

Im getting a new PSU on 15th, Coolmaster realpower pro 620w modular and 2X 320gb seagate barracuda 18mb cache 7200rpm hard drives.

I should also be getting a single water cooling loop to the Cpu only so i should be running in the late 30* temps wise.

Today im not a very happy person! I ordered a green cold cathold lighting kit for my pc from e-buyer at a bargain price of £3! and royal mail forced it through my letter box breaking 1 of the tubes and the inverter!

Just a warning people NEVER use royal mail first class delivery!

Ok so i got sum upgrades on the way. The first thing im replacing is the RAM which ive got 2gb kit of Crucial DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Ballistix Memory and a Sony optiarc dvd re-writer with a 2MB cache OEM version, which should both arrive tomorrow or tuesday.:p

I cant wait to clock this memory, ive been hearing good overclocking stories about this RAM, time will tell!

Hey guys ive just got hold of a E2160 1.80GHz processor now, and its jus been clocked to 2.80GHz with just a 1.3500v vcore!

Here's the coretemp results.



Its going to be pushed even further maybe a 3.60GHzish in the next few hours, i will post coretemp and stress prime results as soon as i get them:p

Hey guys heres more updates as promised. Firstly i took my dvd drive off as i wasn't using it and it just looks a lot sexier without it. Next is a sata 2 samsung spinpoint hd160jj 8mb cache hard drive which i have re-verse mounted to make it a bit more tidier. The cpu has been changed for an E2160 running stock speeds at the mo as some cooling issues popped up when running it at 3.20GHz on the stock cooler! Last is the green catholde kit which makes it look moodier!

Anything possible pal. I havent heard of an Antec300 water cooled before so im here to give it a go. I will probably use a 120mm rad, dual drive bay resivour/ pump combo and CPU cooler all running 5/8" high flow barbs, anti coil kinks etc.

There isnt much space really but that just amkes it more fun!

If you guys are interested in water cooling, Antec does have an internal radiator for the 1200.
 
Is there possibly any chance of custom making a 120mm radiator available to fit inside a Antec300 chasis or any idea of a simular context for future Antec parts?

Personally i think if there was then the 300 may become a legend for water cooled micro atx power houses!

The end is near my friends, There are only 3 more components needed for the rest of project gigabyte.

Today i treated myself to a new graphics card that was better than my 7300le (even the standard vga port is better!:0wned:) an got an XFX 8800GT 384MB DDR3 Aplha dog edition graphics card. The first impressions are great, it handles crysis fine at 800x600 resolution at 2xAA which is good enough for me.

I paid £83.00 for it from PC world in wrexham and if i had to nag about one thing it would be the noise of the cooling fan. It sounds like a jet engine when first fired up! :D

Pics are on the way people so please be patient. Next up is a Coolermaster 520w SLI modular psu and 2GB OCZ SLI ram. :p
