Project Contrast

Hello OC3D forum members! I am starting project contrast. The project will include the fractal design define R3, each cable individually sleeved (some extensions) with black sleeving and some white, I will also be cutting out a window. This is going to include the sandy bridge i7 2600k processor

, Fractal R3, Gigabyte P67A-UD7 and a gtx 580 or gtx 570 (dunno yet

and a 1tb caviar black, AX850W power supply.. all that good stuff.

So far i only have my case, i will be getting core components in a week or two and my sleeving tomorrow but in this time i will sleeve cables and cut my window

So new update, i got the window in. I didn't use acrylic and i didn't use plexi glass... then what did I use? POLYCARBONATE!

I cut it all out today, went to home depot & harbor freight for the jigsaw, hand file, polycarbonate and tape to.. well.. tape it on

PICTURES GALORE!

So i started removing the sound denting material and it wasn't hard as long as you have the right tools!

Some goof-off gets all that left over sticky stuff on the panel.

Made the rounded edges with some random roll of tape

Picked up a jigsaw and a hand file, i also went to home depot but not shown in the pictures.

A nice cloudy day for moddin' eh?

All my materials layed out.

After a ton of cutting and hassle I got the end result.. i'm quite happy with it. I will be purchasing some U-Channel to go around the jagged edges.

Looks good dude, the boys are right it would look much better with some Cstrip round that window if you have not glued it in, probably a bit late now.

Please keep the build log going though, we need to see more like this on OC3D

I know the dents are terrible, i am taking it to get steel rolled though. ^^

Another Update for you all, no pictures this time

I have ordered my parts and because of the sandy bridge flaw, i got the i7 950

My case dents are getting fixed today i also have some molding for the edges.

Hello, yet another update. Build done. I couldn't take any pictures of me building it, it was late in the night. A little change with my side panel... not rolled YET and i'm gonna put the molding on when it gets done. Anyways, here is the completed build. Enjoy
