Problems with F.E.A.R. patch 1.05

Another day decided to play FEAR, after lunched the game i have been ofered to download update which was patch 1.05. Went to Sierra web to check what this new patch ofers and found out that it's for Multiplayer, some new game modes. After downloading update i lunched game and went on multiplayer to see whats the crack and everything looked fine, then i went back to main menu to continue my Singleplayer game. Selected option "Load Saved Game" as usual, but after loading bar filled and game should start it just crashed with this mesage:

Tried several times no luck, it was crashing all the time. Then tried to choose "New Game" and it worked fine. Then i reinstalled game with no patces and loaded my saved game with no problems. After i downloaded full 1.05 patch, as before it was patch from 1.04 to 1.05 and i thought maybe it's causing problem, but after i patched game with full 1.05 patch i couldn't get saved game working again, so it's something wrong with this 1.05 patch.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

Looks like a GPU driver issue to me mate - had this meself a few times, first I thought I'd clocked it too high but that wasn't it.

Suggest that you fully uninstall the the chipset and mobo driver then use driver cleaner to wipe out any nvidia references Nforce and forceware before re-installing.

iirc ther is a beta driver that was introduced to help with this problem (84.43?).

Look like i have a bit spare time to do the driver reinstall now .

All i wanted to ask is wich drivers (version) i should use???

I checked on guru3d and there is a pile of newer drivers than 84.43, the latest ones is 84.56/84.66/87.08/87.25/91.28 and i'm a bit confused for which one i should go???

Latest chipset driver is 9.16, should i choose this one or there is some another one i should go for???

And out of intrest: how big role playing AMD driver for CPU???

Why not just try them til one works then report back?

You should be using the latest AMD driver for your processor.

I cleaned GPU and chpset drivers. After i installed 9.16 driver for chipset and went to try some GPU drivers...

1st driver i tried was 91.28 (beta) from guru3d, next one was 84.21 from nVidia.com and then i took official driver 81.98 again from guru3d but none of them solved my FEAR problem.

I have suspicion that problem is in FEAR patch 1.05 as everything was fine with patch 1.04 running with 91.28 driver :?.

Reinstalled game and pached with 1.04 patch and everything is fine. As patch 1.05 is only for multiplayer i'm not gonna miss it much as i'm not playing multiplayer, yet .
