Problem Booting Vista

As title says.

Ive got XP installed on my Raptor, and Vista on my Maxtor drive in an attempt to avoid any confusion between the two. That plan failed misserably.

Now when i try and boot into Vista I get the 'NTLDR is missing' message, and have to restart. I somehow managed to get it to boot into vista after a single one of these messages yest by changing the boot prioritys in my bios. But this didn't help either.

Can anyone point me to/give some help?

You did install XP before Vista right?

If not then XP screws up the boot tables.

I think you can repair it using bootmgr or something

Yeah i did, my XP is still the same from when i installed this system. Vista is on a totaly different hard drive.

One thing i have noticed is while im trying to run the repair system on the vista CD, the disk its installed on is still labbled D:, but that shouldnt matter right?

it will prb be your boot.ini file which isnt correctly configured. try disabling one of the drives in the bios. then boot. as soon as it lets you have a peek at the boot.ini file.

Well it turns out my bios was nameing my harddrives backwards. It was trying too boot off my storage drive when i was telling it to boot off my maxtor...
