Price of RAM increasing.

Just been looking at buying some RAM, have noticed that prices have increased a fair whack. 8gb was £35-£40 now starting from £50 for basic memory.
Why is this? What has caused the price increase?

Supply and demand mainly. At the time RAM was low priced there was little demand for it and loads of stock around so prices were low.

There is a high demand for it now but not so much stock around, so prices are high again.

RAM prices are always on the up and down, same thing happened back in the DDR2 times and the beginning of the DDR3 times. Then prices went low and are now back up again.

DDR4 is coming some time next year so prices will probably get higher before they get lower again.
