" Apparently, amid rumours that Intel were going to slash the pricing of their Pentium D range, AMD has announced price cuts for its mid to low-end Athlon 64 X2 processors " More price cuts to remain competitive with Intel, and bargains for the patient! Let's hope AMD come up with something fast...especially with a poor Q4 showing for investors, and nothing apparently in the pipeline to usurp Intel's performance crown, AMD has gotta do something fast. MORE price drops  The A64 X2s are cheap as chips as it is. Although they cost close to the E6300 / E4300s and perform nowhere near in terms of peak performance so a pricedrop is justifiable I guess

AMD need to keep dropping the prices if they plan on keeping people interested in AMD proccies. If you are building a new computer, it's almost a complete no-brainer as to which platform to choose on the same budget scale. AMD's setups should definately be cheaper by a decent margin since they get thoroughly raped by the C2D's.

I still like AMD as a company a whole lot more than Intel, still an AMD fanboy tbh. But, it's definitely undeniable that Intel has a huge strangle hold on the processor market right now.
