PowerColor To Release 5870 LCS Edition

It winds me up no end that retail, VAT inclusive, prices still work out much cheaper than their version.

You can't tell me that they are getting the blocks for £40 more than retail (in which case give Marcus or Tom a ring). And that's not removing anything from the price of the standard card because they aren't using the stock cooler.

The first company to release a WC GPU at under the cost of doing it yourself will be RICH.

A special warranty that costs £50 over the cost of the warranty that comes with the standard card, assuming retail prices for the block??

No thanks. Unless the warranty means Alyson Hannigan will come round my house and take my mind off the lack of graphics card whilst it's being repaired. It might just about be good vfm then.

vonblade has a point but several 4870x2 users including myself found that fitting a certain aftermarket waterblock can cause your graphics card to die due to the mounting mechanism on it, and because you mounted a aftermarket cooler your have voided your waranty then the extra dosh is well spent.

You might find what she does with a flute at band camp more interesting than how your RMA on your gpu is getting on!

Out of interest, when u buy one of these expensive pre-blocked cards, does any1 know if they actually install them well ?

I'm visioning some1 buying one of these - then taking it apart to apply goo properly, or better goo etc etc. .... which is almost like them mounting their own in the 1st place.
