I might do it again only if I don't have to post daily. Some days I really just.. dont want to. Maybe every other day an article or two I'd do it.

The news team has always been appealing to me, but I don't know if I could give one article per day. As nickS said, I would need to space it out a bit as well.

I agree IMO 1 per day is a lot for average people (PV is super man!)

Hi mate, we really do need news to be posted daily. With the amount of hits the site receives on a daily/weekly/monthly basis we'd be crazy not to try and take advantage of it. If you have some interesting news, feel free to forward it on and I'll get it up for you.

I try and average 5 articles a day (work, family load dependent), and with the 'news snippet' function now available I can get more up. I'm not expecting the same amount I do, we just need a consistent flow of news articles being posted each day. It's simply unfair to other members of the news team if we're expected to take up the slack all the time.

News snippet? I never knew we had something like that. What's it do?

I did provide a link for you mate - News Snippet. It's a direct link to other tech news around the web, mainly for stuff that doesn't really warrant a dedicated article.

Hmmmm... I'm interested. With such an alluring offer - that salary with those benefits - how can anyone resist?

1 decent post a day, the opportunity to flex my vocab and contribute something to the forum. Sounds cool.

I think I spend the first hour of the day on here anyway... Are there guidelines for content or are you free to express your creative genius as you see fit? Also, is 'liberating' news articles from other sites acceptable?

Am very tempted with this offer of fame and fortune myself....

I spend a fair amount of my waking hours on the web reading techie reports, reviews etc so this would serve to compliment what I already do anyway...and give me the chance to feed the hungry OC3ders out there who crave up-to-the-minute information on what's new and what's poo out there!!:)

@Mods - could me and Mullet form a dynamic duo - Smullet or Mullith? Trawling through the pap on the net looking for the diamond story?

Jokes asside, could we share the post or is this restricted to a single member?

No need to share, there's spaces for everyone lol. Having two recruits would be much better than one in terms of the bulk of news we would see

What is the process for submitting a news article? Simply create a new thead in the news section?

Also, is there a criteria to distinguish a news snippet/news article? Do articles need vetting first?

I'm still looking for a worthy article to submit...

Sorry to not be online guys, I have a very sick child atm. Mullet and Mr Smith can you please send me an email with your preferred password for the news area. Once we have those, we'll get you set up

Snippets are things you've seen on other sites that perhaps require a small mention, news articles are slightly more in-depth (and we also have a news inbox with press releases etc)

Me, PV or XMS will look at the first one or two articles before publication to ensure you're ok with the editorcp, then you'll be on your own :p

Actually, that reminds me I did up a little thing for news members to assist with getting a handle on the main tools and layout for the news

Positions filled already?

I dont mind having a crack at being a news whore :p

let me know if you need an extra...

Also i take it gaming news is also acceptable? - i would be pretty good at that hehe

Raging.
