When I was using my old ASUS Crosshair mobo, this CPU could hit the 3Ghz easy as pie, but I have returned that motherboard (kept dying!) and now have my old nForce 570 and the thing can't hit the 3Ghz mark, it can't even do 2.9 stably
I have heard of processors being OCed over long times not being able to hit as high an OC, but considering I ran 3Ghz for about 2 months I can't see this being the reason 200Mhz has escaped. Was the 570 chipset a poor OCer? My temps are pretty low, and I never threw extra voltage at the CPU before hand so have not done so this time. Ideas? It is not essential as this PC will just be my server when my Q9450 arrives, but it is a little annoying paying the extra ££ for an unlocked multiplayer and the extra yield being a whopping 200Mhz
Ideas?
