Plextor Bringing its Ultra-fast SATA III 6Gbps SSDs to the UK

I bet these are going to be expensive

I can't wait untill SSDs come down to a more reasonable price, a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB is £0.04p per gig and a Kingston 64gb SSD is £1.18p per gig

Although SSDs are worth it for the speed they definitely are not worth the price.

Plextor has always been an expensive choice for CD/DVD solutions. Long ago they were considered the very best in quality, (and they were double the price of other solutions too) but over time they were eclipsed by Lite-On and other brands who provide good quality for a far cheaper price. In the CD/DVD market, I see that they still demand a price premium but it's been so long since I bought anything 'Plextor' that I can't speak to their quality anymore.

These SSD's have some good specs, but I would be interested (cringing) in their prices for them. I'll never buy them if I feel like I'm tied to the Whipping Post to afford them

agreed that SSD prices need to come down but also the technology needs to mature, think within a year tops they would of nailed it ...hope so anyway
