I'll paypal $100 to anybody that can tell me how this heatsink can cool a Pentium M

download.php

:rollingla What a joke

the heat is generated onto the cpu attachment which then flows thru the metal and heatpipes to the copper fins to dissipate the heat which the fan is attached to,to keep the cpu within its temperature limitations.

now wheres my goddam money biznitch?:rollingla

thanks.

That's a WEAKASS heatsink, wowww... That thing needs some thinner, longer fins and some copper that doesn't look it hasn't even been refined (or whatever).

Pretty naff.

Re-install it with some Arctic Silver Ceramique, temp's will prolly go down. Maybe install a new fan? :)

Not that I disagree with you, (I put a new P4-M in my lappy the other day using ceramique) but I'm wondering why you recommend ceramique over others?

Re-install it with some Arctic Silver Ceramique,

would personally NEVER use the ceramique as it has terrible heat transer properties.

artic silver 5 has almost twice the heat transfer.

ceramique comes in at 200.000w squaremeter.

AS5 comes in at 350.000w squaremeter and thats alot.

now if I look at this right...why is the fan on the bottome? I mean I dont know alot obout lappies, buy there has to be no clearance between the mobo and the fan from the looks of it, and either way it would blow air either , it does nt make anysense. "scratches head" This is why I like my desktop. I can make it portable with some back straps

could imagine it can work rather good.

it has a design so it can draw cold air from the outside and push it out at the bottom of the case.

Meh, I get the same temps on my CPU with either AS5 or Ceramique. My CPU is naked now (no IHS) so I use Ceramique.

I put some AS5 and noticed a immediate difference, but now it's gone.. just had it for a format

It has some sort of reaction, oxidizes or something. But that doesn't matter for most of us since most of us use copper heatsinks. However, there is this kid over at XS name Thrilla who has come up with a metal thermal paste that does quite well and so far has had no problem with aluminum. He's thinking about selling the stuff so maybe we could get a review sample from him :)

I'm friends with the guy, I'll talk to him.
