Please recommend a board

Hi All,

I looking for a board with enough PCIe slots to run xcross with the cards further enough apart for decent air cooling or room for watercooling in the future but without compromising slots bandwidth.....

Please could someone recommend a good board within a reasonable price bracket say £200 for i7 2700k.

My current board has the 2 gpus in xcross to close together.

MSI Z77 GD55 and 65 would be my picks as they both have a great layout for multi-gpu's, the difference between the two boards is the 65 has 3 more power phases and 2 more Sata 3 ports. As for Z68 boards, the Gigabyte UD4 and UD5 are also good

No point in getting the GD80 over the 65 or 55 if you don't have any requirements for thunderbolt

dual x16 would be better....

1155 boards only have 16 lanes anyway so you will be stuck at x8 x8 regardless of the what the label says unless you upgrade your cpu and mobo to z77.

I have the gd 55 and it works like a dream

the GD80 has the con fig 16, 1, 1, 16, 1, 16 so you should have a space of 1 pci-e between cards

well if the reviews of the gd 65 are anything to go by then there is a good chance that the gd80 will be aswell

Yeah you really can't fault the MSI Z77 boards, they really are amazing. Also check out the Gigabyte Z77 UD5, just realised the non-WiFi version is now £150 which is awesome
